What is the Virtual St. Joseph Altar?

In the tradition of the Sicilian St. Joseph Altars of New Orleans, the Virtual St. Joseph Altar made its online debut in February of 1999.

The 2020 Altar had over 2000 visitors and 112 offerings. I thank all who participated, making this a worthy honor to St. Joseph.

The Virtual St. Joseph Altar is now in its 22nd year! As you visit the Altar and the other pages of this site, I ask you to pray for all who have made Prayer Requests. For info and updates all year long, be sure to join us on Facebook, Instagram, Telegram, or the Virtual St. Joseph Altar blog.

This year the Virtual St. Joseph Altar got its very own domain name and a new mobile friendly site. Be sure to bookmark the new url! There is a new page for the Year of St. Joseph where I will post news, links, and resources to help the faithful celebrate and participate in this special year. There is also a new Light a Candle page. Because of your continued prayers & support, the Altar gets bigger and better each year! Donations of $25 or more will receive a digital copy of Viva San Giuseppe: A guide for Saint Joseph Altars. This booklet contains a brief history of the St. Joseph Altar, recipes, prayers and more. This out-of-print publication, in digital PDF format, is my gift to you.

Don’t miss the 3d Virtual St. Joseph Altar. Cut, color, and create your own mini St. Joseph’s Altar. This fun family craft will help you and your little ones learn about the lovely St. Joseph Altar tradition.

The 2021 Altar will remain open through Friday, March 19.

Thank you for these 22 years, and for continuing to spread devotion to St. Joseph.

Viva San Giuseppe!
